Pathogenix
Pathogenix develops rapid, accurate point-of-care diagnostics for clinicians, starting with Strep A to support faster treatment decisions and reduce unnecessary antibiotic use
Problem & solution
Rapid Strep A testing often forces a trade-off between speed, accuracy and cost: antigen tests can miss infections, while culture takes 24–48 hours and molecular tests are costly. Pathogenix is developing a rapid, accurate and affordable point-of-care platform combining immunoassay recognition with electrochemical detection to deliver actionable results within minutes, supporting timely treatment and more appropriate antibiotic use.
Primary customers & users
Primary customers include clinics, urgent care centers, physician practices and pharmacies. Buyers include healthcare system leaders, procurement teams and clinical/lab leadership. Initially used by healthcare professionals at the point of care, with a future path toward home use as the platform gains clinical validation and public trust.
Differentiation
Pathogenix is designed to bridge the gap between fast but less sensitive antigen tests and accurate but costly molecular testing. Our platform combines immunoassay recognition with electrochemical detection to deliver rapid, quantitative results using a compact reader and low-cost disposable test format.
Current traction
Pathogenix is currently in the proof-of-concept stage, supported by a NIS 250K grant from the Israel Innovation Authority. Laboratory validation of the platform is underway, alongside collaborations with academic and clinical partners, including BGU. We are conducting customer discovery with clinicians in Israel and the U.S. to guide product development.
How Summit participants can help
We are seeking introductions to U.S. healthcare systems and clinical leaders for validation and future pilot opportunities, strategic diagnostic and commercialization partners, and early-stage healthcare investors. We would especially value relationships that can help guide U.S. market entry, clinical adoption, and reimbursement strategy.
